Written  by the outstanding Marxist theoretician and revolutionist Rosa Luxemburg in 1900, against the emerging revisionist tendency in German Social Democracy led by Eduard Bernstein, these writings take up basic questions of Marxist theory and strategy.

This volume contains two of Luxemburg’s most important works: Reform or Revolution and The Mass Strike. The first, directed against Bernstein, is a defense of the revolutionary perspective of Marxism against attempts to substitute a program of the gradual reform of capitalism based on the trade unions and parliament. “The Mass Strike,” inspired by the revolutionary events in Russia in 1905, was directed at the German trade union leaders, who increasingly formed a right wing faction within German Social Democracy.
