In 2010, Remember the Stolen Election of 2000! Review by Ezmirelda Janovsky
If you want to understand the proliferation of US military conflicts throughout the globe, this review of the elements of the 2000 and 2004 elections is indispensable.
Why did the Democratic Party not fight for a recount of the Florida vote? Why did they so easily concede to the Republicans? Why did the Liberal establishment endorse the Iraq War and subsequent ones? Why did the anti-war protests and massive anti-war votes in subsequent elections fail to effect any change in US foreign policy?
North links the growth of militarism and the assault on democratic rights within the US with the fast-growing polarization of wealth - it is impossible to maintain democratic forms when society is sharply divided between the super-rich and the mass of the population.
Supplemented with an Obituary of Ronald Reagan and the Kennedy assassination. (Posted on 1/1/10)
